This was so relatable! I have an ever growing graveyard of calendars / schedule / journals dating back to 2012. Each more beautiful than the previous and they never see a pen past middle of January.

Same!! I love a beautiful new planner at the start of the year! And thus, I have a stack of beautiful new planners in a closet (because I can't get rid of them? Because they're beautiful?) that are still quite empty. Oy.

When I read the first row I was like ”this sounds too good to be true”, then the words I was looking for came 🤣

The only time a scheadule works for me is when I have ONE meeting. If its something that happens on the same time eveyr day or even week, I lost it after 2 times of doing it. No alarm in the world would make me do it again. And still I’m trying to do just this, because all the gurus and books say its super to stay productive, bla bla…. 😩

Oh yeah, ‘one thing a day’ is a rule me and my kid have to keep life manageable. You can have your routine plus one thing. More than that is just asking for trouble 😅

Sooooo true! I really, really struggle with the multiple demands of modern life and need life to stay fairly simple wherever possible.

If something different needs to be added into a day, it has to be done at the expense of something else, rather than alongside - it's very much a one-in-one-out thing 😏

Yap, it’s extremely difficult to expand our routines without dropping something! Doesn’t help that we live in an atomized society where everyone has to do everything for themselves instead of multigenerational systems where power can help each other….

I feel seen! That first paragraph felt like positive affirmations I tell myself. 😂

I set MULTIPLE reminders for appointments. If it's a morning appointment, I'll set a reminder for the night before, two hours before, and one hour before. I'm a capable person, but without those I will forget.

I also deeply related to the Newtonian law of physics. If I'm doing something, I will stay doing that thing, but it is so hard to transition to the next thing!

Omg reframing Shame has been a game-changer for me. I found out about how ADHD in Women presents itself in 2021 ( I've only just started the official process of diagnosis last week- procrastinating much?) and since then my mantra has been 'say goodbye to Shame' and I'm in such a better place now. I lived with Shame about the way I am for so many years and now I know it is a Thing and not innate character flaws of mine I can let go of the negative thoughts I had about myself and move on from them.

Shame keeps us all down, it's used as a weapon against us, particularly women!

Say Goodbye to Shame!

It's taken me years of repeating that phrase, but it's working.
